BJ started working in the healthcare industry when BJ was 19 as the front office person for a female Internal Medicine/Geriatric Physician who owned her own solo practice. That gave her a glimpse into the world of being a woman and owning a small business.
BJ quickly realized seeing patients and practicing medicine was only one part of all that was required to owning and operating your own business, in addition to being a mother and wife. After 10 years, BJ moved to the billing side of healthcare working within larger corporations for about 2 years, until my mother, who was a true entrepreneurial spirit, called and said BJ need you to quit your job and come work for me.
Six years prior she was working in graduate medical education and decided to give it a shot on her own doing consulting. BJ took a huge leap of faith, quit my job and started learning more of the administrative side of healthcare and what it truly was like to run a small business.
After working in every aspect of the business for 13 years, and my mother wanting to retire, BJ took another leap of faith and decided to formulate a plan to buy the business. BJ became the owner of Partners in Medical Education, BJnc. in 2014 and am blessed to have my own small company today with 8 employees and 2 sub contractors.
